i was online looking at weight loss products and i noticed that a lot of products tell everyone under the age of 18 not to take these products. Could you tell me why please ??
For those under age of 18, their body is still in a developing stage and the dosage might be harmful to them. Over-the-counter (OTC) weight loss pills are probably the most popular diet supplement on the market. However, most of these drugs are not tested by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and therefore these products are not subject to the standard guidelines on advertising and dosage. Most OTC diet pills contain an unregulated amount of powerful amphetamine-like properties, which have been associated with serious health risk including permanent physical detriment and even death.
The side effects of taking OTC drugs are contributed from the way that variety of chemical compounds are bind together to form the final products. Because dosage instructions are inadequate in most of the drugs, it makes these supplements even more dangerous to the public. Possible side effects include rapid heartbeat, elevated blood pressure, dizziness, nervousness, kidney damage and heart failure. Diet pills that work on the brain to suppress appetite have slightly different side effects which include hair loss, chest pain, fever, depression and heart damage.
What do you think of these weight loss products?

They say that because those products contain a LOT of hormones that aren't good for you. They're not good for adults, but they're even worse for people under 18 because at that age, you are still developing (physically and mentally) and the excess hormones could really do some serious damage. But really: do you ever want to add excess hormones to your body? We make PLENTY as is.

Because they don't want to get sued if a minor uses their product and something bad happens. Most likely, at some point in time a minor took a weight loss supplement and was injured and the company ended up getting sued. So now, all these companies post the warning on their label saying anyone under 18 shouldn't use it. That way, if something bad does happen and they get sued, they can claim no fault because the user didn't abide by the directions.

ps. The fact that most of these products are marked for 18 and over is due to that younger people and kids are more weak to those chemicals and so ther are protecting themself from being sued.
